Catholics/Meat on Friday

Question
Hi,

I realize that any answer will be just an educated guess, but perhaps there has been a poll which can give a rough answer.

Of those Catholics who refrained from eating meat on Fridays when it was prohibited, what percentage switched to eating meat on Fridays once it was permitted? (I'm not interested in those who never followed the rule--who always ate meat on Fridays.)

Many thanks,

Steve

Dear Steve--
I have no real guess but I hope the numbers remained high.
Also I feel I need to share what really changed since Vatican II.

Before Vatican II for Latin rite displine was to abstaine from flesh/red meat and all by-products from same animals ( eg. Milk, Cheese, eggs,& etc. )on all Fridays

After Vatican II for most English speaking cultures it was changed to just the meats from said animals on all Fridays, however one could do some other form of penance instead with pastoral approval.
