Catholics/The Passion of the Christ

Question
Dear Fr. Moderator,

I presume that like me, you have seen Mel Gibson's film. One review I read said that it was 'steeped in Gibson's own traditionalist Catholicism'. I know what 'traditionalist Catholicism' is but I'm not sure what this is referring to in the film - can you please give me some examples from the film.

Thank you

Charles

Answer
I can't because I don't concur with the implication of the review.  Remember, most of these contrary reviews have been written by anti-Catholic bigots, particularly bigots against the traditional Roman Catholic Faith.  And what is the traditional Roman Catholic Faith but what has been taught for 2000, in its unadultered form, not the politically correct "New Order" form that offers a counterfeit in so many locations around the country and the world?
