What is the Petrine Primacy?
This has to do with the importance of St. Peter. It's not to be confused with the Petrine Privilege (which has to do with Pontifical authority in dissolving marriages). For details on the Petrine Primacy, please see this link:

The way you posed your answer make's sense theologically, yes, it would be so nice if we knew more about the 'missing years', but the Gospels recording of Our Lord's Ministry is what to really concentrate, reflect upon, :-).
