Question
My husband went to RCIA classes but was told he couldn't convert because I had been married before in the Catholic church. He has never been baptised.  Would he have to go to a protestant church to get baptised?

Answer
Liz,

This doesn't make sense to me. If your husband has never been baptised, he can certainly participate in RCIA. I think you might be confused by the requirement that his marriage to you be blessed by the Church. For that to happen, you must obtain an annulment of your previous marriage. You should talk to the leader of the RCIA program about this. From what you're telling me, you've misunderstood something. Your husband must certainly does not have to be baptised in a Protestant church.
