Question
You can receive the Eucharist everyday, but can you receive it twice a day.
Can you go to morning, and then also go in the afternoon? (weekday Masses)

Thanks
Linda

Answer
                          Peace

Dear Linda
My answer is based on my copy of Canon Law as approved by the Late John Paul II in 1983. It might have change slight but I cant recall details. I check round for you.

Book 4 Part 2 Title 3 article 2

Can. 917 One who has received the blessed Eucharist may receive it again on the same day only within a eucharistic celebration in which that person participates, without prejudice to the provision of can. 921 ß2.

Can. 921

ß2 Even if they have already received holy communion that same day, it is nevertheless strongly suggested that in danger of death they should communicate again

Also a priest can say Mass 3 times (sometime more for rare cases) in a single day, and they recieve each time.

ps I will try to find out about the changes i seem to be recalling that allows a non cleric to recieve more than twice in on day. Limiting is to abuse and to prevent recieve out of habit verse out of devotion.
