Catholics/Refusal of marriage annulment

Question
When is an annulment NOT granted?

Answer
CR,

I know this is going to sound terribly general but the right answer is when the diocesan Marriage Tribunal determines that the marriage in question was indeed a sacramental marriage. This is dependent upon the testimony of witnesses and of the parties involved. Whether a declaration of nullity is granted depends entirely upon the evidence presented. In point of fact, tribunals grant annulments far more often than they refuse them. This is because a lot of cases for annulment that are likely to fail are simply not submitted by the parishes.

 Hope that helped some.
