Hi Sal,

  I have been curious how to tell if a vision or apparition is coming from God? Saints had this gift and I just want to know to know if your being decieved or if its the truth. Are there ways that I can start by becoming a saint. I feel that I am called to become one. What can I do to make a difference and be saint like. I am sick of seeing unholy peoples in this world I want to prove them wrong that you can be holy and dont have to let the devil get to you. What can I do?

Hi Jacqueline:

A true vision from God will not conflict with Catholic Church teachings. A true vision will promote holiness. If the vision departs from the teachings of the Catholic Church then you can be sure that it is a vision not from God. For example, if you see the Blessed Mother in a vision and she tells you that all churches are acceptable in God's eyes then you can be sure that that vision is of the devil.

To be saint-like always try to see things in light of the teachings of the Catholic Church. Try to attend Mass as often as possible that is a great way to increase one's holiness. Another thing that will help you on the road to sainthood is to make frequent confessions and receive our Lord in Holy Communion as often as daily.
