Question
While I was going to a website to do more studying about the whole Who is the right religon thing. I came upon a thing that said that catholics changed the first commandment and that it was origonly thy shall not bear pictures of the Lord. It then said that Protestants kept that commandment.

So my first question is, Did Catholics change the 2nd commandment.

And my 2nd question is, if  so then why do protestants break that rule (crosses on top of churches)

Thanks,
Cody

Answer
Dear Cody:

The Catholic Church has the same list of Ten Commandments as do Protestants. The Ten Commandments in the Book of Exodus chapter 20 are not numbered. The Catholic Church includes the Protestant 2nd Commandment in its first Commandment. So the prohibition against worshipping idols is in the Catholic list as part of number one.

Your second question is a good one to ask a Protestant. I can guess that one might say that it is not an idol that they worship.

If I can help you with any other questions please let me know.

God Bless You,
Sal
