hello, my question is as follows,. recently i have been visited by jehova witness, and after weeks of talkin on fridays they seem to have an answer for everything. i am catholic and my uncle is a pastor(whom studied catholosism in rome for 6 years) so my faith is strong in my religion. has the church tainted the translation of the scriptures to benefit themselves and the people? has paganism wormed its way into our most recnt istallment of the KJV.? is jehova god? please i need your words now. what do the wittnesss believe in that is not true? is there New World Translation accurate or is it another watch tower publication? ...any info would help me. I currently read the KJVII

ALL translations are merely a reflection of the original. If you are serious, you should start now to learn the authentic languages so that you can read the Latin Vulgate and the Greek New Testament and Septuagint Old Testament. Then you don't have to rely on "translations."
Yes, the King James Version is defective, as the translators didn't have access to all the manuscripts that St. Jerome did. Many of the modern "translations," both Catholic and Protestant, have injected a political slant into the "translation."
AnswerActually, Jehovah is a made-up name, based on a mixture of the consonants of the sacred name of God (Yahweh) with the vowel points of the Hebrew "Lord" (Adonai). The sacred name was not considered proper to pronounced, so it was disguised with the vowel points of the common word "Lord."
