Catholics/aliens

Question
How do Catholics and the Catholic Church view aliens/extraterrestrials?  The possibility of life elsewhere in the universe?  I am a student working on a paper and I am very interested.  Thank you!

Answer
Fawn,

The Church has no official position on this matter, but it is certainly within the realm of an all-powerful God to create as many types of life forms as can be imagined. It would not be against our faith to believe that other species of intelligent life might exist on the billions of habitable planets in our vast universe. And we would praise the Father for all of it.
