Dear sal,

          Is it true that if your a alter server that you are close to God? I mean I am an alter server for a year now and I have been promoted to being a captain. An the priest said that I am so devoted to the lord and the mass that I show great respect and that I care about the church. I even respect the pope. I do everything so carefully that I believe that Jesus is present in every mass everyday. I have a guardian angel as well its saint Michael what an honor to have the prince of Israel to be my guardian. He talks to me to I see him on and off he is even in the church when I am doing my servings. I am a cross bearer and I am happy of it. Oh and I know it is saint Michael because that he doesnt say false things about the church.

Altar servers can indeed be closer to God if they want to be. Some are not as loving as you are. Altar servers in general do not have any advantages over anyone else. You sound as if you do indeed love the Lord very much.

Keep on trying to be close to God and His Holy Catholic Church!
