Question
Are there missing books of Philip and Daniel. If Jesus was a human being and he was taken up to heaven to sit at the right hand of the father, what does he eat? Is God the father not a spirit but another human being? I find that some of the history channels possibilities make more sense than those of the bible. For instance, I believe Jesus' spirit was taken up to Heaven not his physical body. Also, why couldnt Jesus have fathered a child with Mary Magdalene. Too much is being made of the finding of the possible tomb of Jesus as exemplified in the Cameron piece on the finding of the tomb in 1980 with the correct dating and the correct script on the side of the cement boxes. I do believe the Catholic Church (Opus dei) wants to keep the myth of Jesus as a celibate God on earth intact and would spare no effort to perpetuate that myth. I would like to know why certain pieces of history were left out of the bible. My doubts of the omnipitence of Jesup as a God rather than a man, borne of a woman, who did in fact die for our sins.

Dear John-
Philip was never considered a book of the Bible by the Catholic. Some Protestants reject parts of the book of Daniel, the Catholic Church accepts the whole text. Jesus had two natures: human and divine but He is one being. His being is divine, therefore needs not to eat. God is a spirit as Sacred Scripture claims. Christ could have married someone, but had no need to. The documents that claim He married, were written centuries after the NT documents were written. History shows that the Church was to busy defending itself in early Christian centuries to promote or create myths about Jesus. The Bible is not a history book per sa but its purpose is to enlight man to truths.
