Question
Hello George!

These are the words of the prayer: "...help me to resist the devil, the flesh and the blood"

I understand that we should resist devils and the flesh but what the BLOOD has to do with it.
Is it a kind of symbol or maybe something else?
thanks!

Answer

Dear Luke--
I have a few ideas, but can you send a copy of the prayer or the part thats in, so I can see context.
Or perhaps it was " the flesh and blood" meaning the wickness of men. The second "the" may have been a typo.
