Question
hi
can you please explain to me the difference in the beliefs of catholics and protestants?
dont they both agree there is a god...? and the same god!?
thanks

Answer
Dear Chris:

Yes, Catholics and Protestants agree that there is a God and yes, we agree that He is the same God. However, we differ on how to relate to that God. Catholics believe in the Bible as only one of God's means of revelation. Protestants believe that it is His only source of revelation. Catholics also see the sacred Tradition passed on by the Apostles as the word of God. Catholics see thing as both/and while Protestants see things as either/or. For example the Protestant sees salvation as either by faith or by works. The Catholic sees it as faith and works.

I hope that helps you. If you need more info just let me know.

Have a great day, Sal
