Catholics/"evil people" in one word

Question
Is there a way to say "evil people" in one word?

Answer
My extreme apologies for the absurd delay.  I doubt the answer will be worth the wait, but here goes:
It is interesting that there are so many words for the bad guys, because each word tends to describe the particular badness we are dealing with:
Thief, murderer, liar, adulterer, perpetrator, deciever, conspirator, criminal, fiend, culprit.
So if you are speaking of someone who fits any such particular category, you find the word that fits.
For a generic "catch-all" word, the best all-around bad-guy word would have to be villain.
