Question
why do the catholic's hate gays?
because the way i see it, god has given the gays the same suffering he gave to jesus, so wouldn't that say that he loves them more than the rest of us, or at least as much?

Answer
If Catholics "hate" homosexuals, they are not following the teachings of Jesus or the Catholic Church.
Jesus taught love for all persons and even said that we should love those who hate us.
The Catholic Church officially teaches that homosexual persons "must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity" [Catechism of the Catholic Church, paragraph 2358].
Based on New Testament teaching as recorded by Paul, the Church does teach that homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered and cannot be approved in any circumstances.
If you would like to see the Catechism, it is available at www.nccbuscc.org/catechism/text/index.htm.  The paragraphs on homosexuality are 2357-9.
