Question
QUESTION: If Baptism of Desire is supported in Luke 23,42-43 (salvation of the "good thief"), why do Matt. and Mark have the thieves reproach and revile Jesus (27,44 and 15,32, resp'y) or why didn't St. Jerome or Dr. Challoner rectify this OBVIOUS inconsistency? cf., also, Dr. Challoner's annotation to Luke 22,58 !

Opinion or recommendation?

Robert

ANSWER: Peace

dear Robert
I dont have Dr Challoner's notes/commentary, so I can't give you answer based on them.

QUESTION: Dr. Challoner's annotations are printed (reprinted) in ANY reliable Douay-Rheims New Testament published before 1958.
Even so, how do you explain the dichotomy between St. Luke and the other two Evangelists?
