Dear Gavin:
The Bible was written in Hebrew and Aramaic (Old Testament) and Koine Greek (New Testament). There is no dispute of this among reputable scholars.
If I can be of further help please do not hesitate to ask.

AnswerDear Gavin:
It is true that Jesus Christ does not appear in the Bible until the New Testament. He was born into the world at that time through the Blessed Virgin Mary. However, Jesus is also the Second Person of the Trinity and as such he does appear in the Old Testament. He is the one through whom all things were created. “In him everything in heaven and on earth was created, things visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominations, principalities or powers; all were created through him, and for him” (Colossians 1:16). “In the beginning was the Word; the Word was in God's presence, and the Word was God. He was present to God in the beginning. Through him all things came into being, and apart from him nothing came to be” (John 1:1-3). St. Paul makes an unusual statement about Jesus' activity in the Old Testament. In speaking of the Exodus of the Israelites from Egypt he states, “All drank the same spiritual drink; they drank from the spiritual rock that was following them, AND THE ROCK WAS CHRIST” (I Corinthians 10:4).
I do not know much Greek. I cannot translate the phrase that you mentioned. Perhaps there is another expert who knows Greek, check their bios on allexperts. Sorry that I can't help you on this one.
