Why be a Christian over all the other religions?  How do you reconcile the differences in what other peoples believe?

Dear Matt
  Why be Christian? Simply put its God's will for to be Christian in general and Catholic in specific.
   There are historical and sciencific proofs that support Catholic/Christian claims.
    Your second question in sense could be two. One reason there so many different types of Christians,can be summed up by the Protestant doctrine named Sola Scriptura.
    The main reason there are so many different religions is can summarily stated : the sins of pride and self induced ignorance.

co-authored by John Paul 2 and another writer, whose name I cant spell. Has good chapters on the subjects related to your question.
