Question
Marco,

I enjoyed your writings on the proof of God and the existence of the soul. Aside from the brain being nothing but material functioning like a common appliance, hence not the origin of emotion and mathematical aspects of the universe, requiring an intelligent mind to create them--

I have read some additional statements on proof of God, that I need help verifying if they're true (I am not strong in the subject of science)

1) Things like cells, atoms and molecules-in a stable state need another like itself to be formed. In other words a molecule, for example, cannot randomly appear by itself

2) Even the "big bang" theory and use of inorganic material needs an origin like everything else-because it consists of matter and energy which had to have an origin.

3) Most Scientists have concluded that the universe had to have come from a finite point of some sort.

please correct any of these statements or verify that my understanding is correct. Thanks ;)

Answer
Dear JT,

I think that a valid objection to your three arguments is the following: energy has always existed and therefore it needs no origin. According to the laws of physics, energy can become matter, and particles can form molecules.
All what it needs are the laws of physics, so the key point becomes: can the laws of physics exist without a God? And the answer is negative.

Your brother in Christ,

Marco

Expertise

I am a catholic physicist and I am married with four children. I can give a scientific proof of the existence of the soul. I am very interested in the following issues: faith and science, rational proof of the existence of God, christianity versus other religions, the Bible, protestantism versus catholicism, miracles. Probably you will find interesting my answers to questions such as: "How can I know that God exist?", "How can I know that catholicism is the true religion?", "Why does evil exist?", "Who created evil?", "Why does Hell exist?", "Why did Jesus have to suffer on the Cross?" , "If God knows everything, why did He create those souls who go to Hell?"

Experience

Theology, physics, biblical studies, catholic apologetics.

Publications
I am author of several articles on the most important scientific journals, such as Physical Review B and Physical Review Letters.

Education/Credentials
A degree in Physics and a Ph.D. in Solid State Physics.
