Question
i just had a quick question. What does it mean when someone, during mass, goes up to receive communion but crosses his arms in front of his chest?
thank you very much?

Answer
Usaully, the action indicates that the person has approached for a blessing but is not eligible to receive Holy Communion [e.g., small child, a non-Catholic].  At our parish, we often have non-Catholics at funerals use the practice.  I do not know its origin.
Best wishes, Chris, for a blessed Christmas.
