Question
i just had a quick question. What does it mean when someone, during mass, goes up to receive communion but crosses his arms in front of his chest?
thank you very much?

Answer
Dear Chris:

That posture lets the priest know that the individual cannot receive communion, but is coming forward for a blessing. The priest will often place a hand on the person's head and offer a blessing, but does not give communion to that person.

God Bless You,
Sal
