Question
I have told people that there isn't a chance for me to go to heaven because i was married in the catholic church, got divorced, haven't been granted an annulment as of yet and have remarried. Am I correct.  If i'm not can you please explain to me why not?

Answer
Liz,

I don't pretend to speak for God as to whether you are going to heaven or not. The Church requires that if you are divorced and remarried you must obtain an annulment of the first marriage before being allowed to received the sacraments. You are not saved by the sacraments of the Catholic Church. You are saved by the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. Does that answer your question?
