I have a very old statue of a Saint holding a hatchet, loaf of bread and a pitcher. The name from the bottom is gone. Do you know who this saint is suppose to be. He seems to be wearing an apron over his long gown. thank you for any help
Answer -
         Peace
Dear Kay
I believe its St Joseph (the Spouse of the Virgin Mother and Guardian of the Savior). The "hatchet" and apron are a sign of his work as a carpenter. The bread is to recall his humbleness in serving Christ the Bread of Life. I can't recall what the pitcher is, to be honest I dont think its a pitcher but "something" that might look like one.
If you, you can send me a picture of it at the address below, so I can confirm my thinking its St Joseph.
