Question
i adopted two cats a month ago.  hey are oriental short hairs.  one kisses me all the time and wants to be with me.  the other one will not let me pet her or pick her up and looks afraid.  she will lay down next to me but if i even look at her she runs away.  what can i d o?

Answer
Hi
some cats are just more timid than others and may not have had the same socialisation when they were small kittens which makes them more afraid of people etc. My best advice is to read my page about bonding with your cat here http://www.our-happy-cat.com/new-cat.html

It may take some time, but it is possible to build a strong relationship with a timid cat.

best wishes Kate
