Question
My male cat has recently started acting aggressive.  He is three years old.  I have a female cat who is young and just went into the heat.  He was attacking her and being horrible so we quickly went and got her fixed.  It's been almost a week since she got fixed and he is still acting horrible just toward her.  He is not a mean cat.  But why is he still acting aggressive?

Answer
Hi
You didn't mention if he was neutered too or not. If not then that would cause him to be generally more aggressive anyway.

Your female cat may still smell like she is in heat and also she will smell of the vets and this will worry and frighten the male cat, who show there fear by being aggressive.

It may be a good idea to carry out a period of re-introduction to get them used to each other again in a controlled environment. I have a web page about this process here http://www.our-happy-cat.com/introducing-cats.html
