Cats/My cat's lack of appetite

Question
My 5 and a half year old cat has, over the last 2 and a half weeks, lost most of his appetite.  I've tried changing food but to no avail.  (He will eat his treats I occasionally give him.)  He is sleeping most of the time and has not been using his litter box a whole lot.  He has lost a bit of weight (he was always a bit plump.)  He does not appear to be in any pain whatsoever, still enjoys being cuddled and held and purrs all the time.  What could be wrong?

Answer
Hi
there is no way that anyone can diagnose this problem with out examining him.

I would strongly recommend that you get him to the vets as soon as possible.

When a cat stops eating and starts losing weight like that then there is definitely something wrong which will need treatment.

I hope the vet can sort him out soon

best wishes Kate
