Cats/after spaying

Question
My month old cat was spayed about a week ago. Now she is acting differently. She isn't as active, sleeps more often, hesitates when jumping (I assume with this she is still sore), eats less...although she does eat. I know this may seem silly but she doesn't carry around her favorite mouse toy like she used to. She would previously bring it around whenever she wanted to sleep or we would find it at the bedroom door, in the bed, she would carry it up and down the stairs when seeking attention etc...

I have checked her wound and it isn't red or swollen. Although it does have a piece of yellowish skin?? in the middle and is hard around the edges. She doesn't seem to mind me checking it though...she is a very docile cat. Also I should mention her sides towards here rear look "sunken". I don't know if this is normal and maybe I am overthinking...I just want to be sure.

Answer
Hi Anne,

Although all cats respond different to the after effects of anesthetic, it's not normal to have ongoing behavior changes or discomfort. You should make an appointment with the vet for a blood panel to check, she could have sepsis - an internal infection, or a hernia. It's better to find this out soon! Eating less is also a sign something is not well with her. The sunken look can be from dehydration or more serious problems. Goos luck I hope she gets well soon!
