Question

coooga
hi I rescued a kitten july 4th , he has not been to a vet, and is strictly indoor,{i can't afford vet immediately}, ok he a wekk and a half ago, started grooming his groin constantly, , becoming needy, meows alot , in sometimes aquestion, kind of sad tone,, or demanding tone, anyway , when I play with him he gets nutty about thebase of his tail scrathed, I know this is a horny spot for them, anyway, bear with me , I trhough he might have a urinary track infection because of the, constant licking, of groin, think he had awet discharge from said area, can I chalk all this up to puberty? and get the charms removed?

Answer
Hi Brian,

It sounds like Coooga has an urinary tract infection. I would get him checked out. What is he eating? He needs a good wet food to eat. I recommend something like Wellness, EVO, Nature's Variety or Eagle Pack. They are all low or no grain foods which will help him. Add about a teaspoon of water to the food and mix it up when you feed him. This will help. Good luck.
