Cats/pregnant feral

Question
a few days ago I noticed she was acting/looking different, she was not eating, lethargic, tongue protruding slightly out of her mouth, and drooling profusely, shallow breathing while makeing low grunting sounds.  Two days later she seems back to normal, none of the above symptonms.  However, she no longer looks pregnant.  I was able to run my hand under her belly, it did not feel distended.  I don't believe she could have been full term, could she have aborted?  I researched her symptoms, and many sounded like an illness.   I never found any mention of the excessive drooling.  Any insight you might be able to provide would be very much appreciated.  Larry

Answer
Hi Larry,

She could have delivered the kittens somewhere around the area. Are her nipples swollen and producing milk? If so, she has kits somewhere about. I don't know of many diseases that mimics pregnancy except for a pyrometia. But she would get very sick and die from that. I think she had kits. You will have to keep a good look out for where she goes. That's the only way to find her nest. Good luck.
