Question
I have a 15-year old cat who is pooing and urinating on all the furniture. She
started this about 4 months ago and it is now getting worse and worse. On
Saturday when we were all in the sitting room on the sofa she came in and
urinated all over the sofa. What can I do? I am desperate. I am locking her out
of the bedrooms now.
Hi Ally,
When cats change their litter box habits it's most likely from being sick. Get her to a vet to be checked out. Next, clean the areas she uses with an enzymatic cat urine and odor remover. This will take care of any smells left over that she can smell but you can't. She won't be tempted to use them again. Get her a new, low litter box. Change her litter to a different type of scoopable, unscented if possible. Try using this stuff;

PetSmart and other pet stores carry it. These things and the vet check should take care of your problem. Let me know what the vet says. Good luck.

Talk to me. Even if I don't understand your words, I do understand your voice when speaking to me.
Be aware that however you treat me, I will never forget it.
Before you swat me, before you strike me, remember that I have teeth that could draw blood. And claws to strike back. And yet I choose not to attack you.
If I don't act right then have me checked to see what is wrong.
Please take care of me when I grow old. You too will grow old.
