Cats/Cat Pregnancy

Question
I've been reading alot lately on pregnant cats. They all seem to say the same thing, an for the most part my cat has those. She is about 11 months now, and her nipples have grown tremendously, and so has her apatite. Her stomach has dropped down alot, and is sticking out on the sides. I know this is an indicator of pregnancy because of our other cat, who is also her mother. I've put my hand on her stomach and felt nothing but her purring, I also took a stethoscope to see if I could hear any heartbeats, and still nothing. I guess my question is, even though I can't feel or hear anything, does that still mean she has a possibility of being pregnant? Or has she just gotten tremendously fat.

Answer
Hi Jessica,

There could be other possibilities. She could be having a false pregnancy. That isn't anything to worry about. She could also have a Pyrometia which is something to worry about. That's an infection of the uterus and is very serious. I would have her checked by a Vet to figure out what is going on. This is your best thing to do. Good luck.
