Question
My B&W cat seems perfectly fine, but the whites of his eyes are always reddish. He doesn't seem to be bothered by this, never rubs at them. The only other symptom he has is dry-ish skin. Any ideas?

Answer
Hi Toni.  Your cat could have environmental allergies, pink-eye or potentially even high blood pressure.  Pink-eye can be caused by viral infections in cats, which are not contagious to people, but it can also be cause by bacterial infections, which may be contagious to people.  High blood pressure is often related to an overactive thyroid, which also may cause flaky skin.  This condition is common in older cats.  It would be the best idea to have your kitty examined by a vet.  If allergies are suspected, Tears Naturale may be all that's recommended.

I hope all is well!
