My Cat has just turned a year old, she has always been very playful and loving. She is not fixed but that has an appointment for that coming up. Her and I have always has a great relationship and she never hissed at me before. She is in heat and all of a sudden started hissing at me out of now where today. What is going on ??

I wouldn't worry too much, it could all be wrapped up with her hormones and being in heat etc, sometimes their behaviour can be quite erratic.

the other possible cause is that you have a different scent on you, either a new perfume or you have been somewhere where you have picked up a scent that she does not like. Both of these can cause a reaction like this.

My own cat who never never bites hisses etc once suddenly hissed at me and made a swipe and it was just after I had put on some perfume.

Once she is spayed she will settle down and her behaviour will be less erratic.
