Cats/cat not going in box all the time

Question
we recently went from one cat to two.  our old cat never went outside the box.  The new cat I suspect has decided to go behind our television downstairs.  I put an additional litter box there but sometimes she will still just go on the floor near it.  I am getting a little tired of cleaning it up.  What can I do.  I clean the litter boxes every day.

Answer
Christy,

Have you had her checked for a medical problem?  Do you know if she had good litter habits before you go her? How old is she?  Is she fixed?

You can get a product called Cat Attract (available at most pet supermarkets.  You sprinkle this on the litter, and it is supposed to help the cat figure out where to go.  Meanwhile, you need to clean up the area with an enzyme based product specifically for cat odors and cat stains (also available at most pet supermarkets or farm stores).

I am giving you a link which points to an excellent series of articles on feline litter box problems.
