Cats/Found Kitten

Question

Bagheera
Hi, I live in China and a kitten was found in the ceiling of
the school I work at.  They took him down and away from
his mom  but he still very young- maybe 4 or 5 weeks old.
I could not find kitten food so I feed him baby formula and
a little veggie oil the first couple days.  He never wants to
eat.  I got worried the second day because he still hasn't
pooped.  I found a vet and took him in- I have no idea what
she said other than "he doesn't have anything inside to poop
out (I'm pretty sure)", and give him this (a tube of cat
nutrition gel) three times a day.  He doesn't want it, so I've
mixed it with baby food- fish flavored.  He LOVES it.
Am I hurting him?  SHould I only give him the cat gel?  It's
Sunday morning now and I've had him since Thursday
morning and he hasn't pooped at all, and I've done
everything I can find to do on the internet.  I might take him
back to the vet today, but I don't know how to ask if the
baby food is OK for him.
Thanks!
Allison

Answer
Hi Allison,

Have you been stimulating him to go? I am attaching a few links on what to do for taking care of him. I am also attaching my recipe for Kitty Glop. Feed him this stuff. Kits love it.

Do not give him a human enema. It is too high in phosphorus. The gel is okay as a supplement but not on it's own. Baby food is also okay. You can see I have it as one of my ingredients in the Kitty Glop. If the kitten hasn't gone after 3 days or so then you need to get him back to the vet. Hopefully all will be well. Good luck.

2 tbsp. mayonnaise (real not light or No-Fat)
1 tbs. Karo Syrup (light)
1 pkg. Knox unflavored gelatin
1 egg yolk (beaten,)
1 cup Pedialyte (unflavored)
1- 2 jars Stage One Baby food (chicken or turkey)

INSTRUCTIONS:
Mix milk, yogurt, mayonnaise, baby food, and syrup together well. Bring 1 cup pedialyte to boil and mix in Knox gelatin. Set aside. Mix egg yolk with small amount of milk mixture and beat well.

Add gelatin and pedialyte to milk mixture and beat well. Add in egg yolk mixture and beat well. Remember to not use egg substitute and keep egg white to a minimum.

Pour into bowl (with cover) and set in refrigerator. Glop will last for two weeks covered in refrigerator. Try freezing the mixture in ice cube trays and store the cubes in the freezer, thaw as many as needed.
Always warm glop to room temperature ,(milk form), or a little warmer, before feeding.
