Question
My cat just had a kitten about a week an a half ago, It was her first litter and she only had one kitten. I talked to a vet about her only having one kitten and she said as long as she is acting like she always has then there shouldn't be a problem, she also said that sometimes they only have one kitten. The kitten and mother have been fine ever since she gave birth. About a hour ago i walked out of my living room to find the mother just laying there, so i called her name and she didn't look at me or anything, she always has before so i walked up to her and i had to move her head to look at me, when she did her eyes were vary watery, and she didn't seem to want to move anywhere. I brought her in to the bedroom where her kitten is and put her in the box with her kitten and she didn't turn to let the kitten get to her nipple or start licking the kitten and she always does those thing, i even shacked her food jar to see if she would come running and she didn't. Should i be worried and go get her checked or is she just tired or something? i don't know much about cats so any help would be great.

Answer
Hi Chris,

Yes you should take her to the vet. She could have a few things wrong with her that would explain this. I am unable to tell you exactly what could be wrong but she should definitely not be like that. Have your vet check her out right away. Good luck. Oh, and in the meantime, pick up some KMR to feed the kit.
