Question
Hi Kate, we have 2 shorthair tigers, one a male and one a female, both fixed; we also have a Feral Cat that visits us every morning and evening to hang with out Domestics and have breakfast and supper, they  all seem to get along fine, the problem is when we come outside he or she freaks out and takes off but halts about 30 feet away and will actually lay down and watch us from there. We really would like to get he or she to warm up to us, so we can at least pet he or she and maybe , eventually get enough of his or hers confidence where we may be able to get him properly inoculated. Thank You in advance...Nick

Answer
Hi
where feral cats are concerned there are no garntees that they will be able to ever except humans as safe enough to be petted. However having said this I do know of some people who after many years been able to gain the confidence of a feral cat to be able to pet them. But it can take a very long time.

I have a web page about how to bond with a cat which mat help you with this feral cat. It is all about allowing the cat to come to you rather than the other way round.

here is my web page
