hi,
i was just wondering if you could help me out. My 6 month old kitten has a habit of trying to mate with my puppy. My kitten has been de-sexed and i just want to know why he does it.
Also he has a habit on doing wee's in our bath, do you know why he does that?

Hi Melissa,
This sometimes happens. It isn't anything to worry about. It is a residual sexual behavior. When he does this have a spray bottle around and just give him a squirt. He'll get the message.
He is using your bath as a litter box because he can smell his urine on it. It may look clean but cats have a highly sensitive sense of smell. You need to clean you bath out with an enzymatic cat urine remover. These cleaners get rid of all cat scents that attract your cat.
I use this stuff. Bramton Simple Solution Home Stain and Odor Remover. It comes in different scents. I like the green apple scent. It does a terrific job. Just spray it on the bath and let it dry. It removes all the odors that tempt your cat back. That should work. If he continues to not use the litter box write back and we'll explore other options for you. Good luck.
