Cats/liquid from butt of cat (anal gland related)

Question
I have a female cat 7 yrs old that I just took to the vet because I thought she needed to have her anal glands expressed or had an infection back there.  The vet expressed the anal glands, said everything was fine and that she was just getting old and didn't want to clean/groom herself anymore.

Well every time she jumps up on the furniture or the bed she leaves this wet substance that smells like poop on the bed, and it's GROSS and I hate it and I want it to stop, LOL, are you laughing yet, how can I get it to stop?  Is it really that she isn't cleaning herself after she poops or is it pee or what?  It smells like a mixture of both but it gets on my hardwood floors, the mats in the bathroom and my ivory colored comforter and it's driving me insane.  What can I do?  Is the vet correct, is there really nothing else wrong?

Please help.

Answer
t,

Remember I am not a vet.  Your vet should have shown you how to express the anal glands of your female cat. Did the recurrence of the problem occur soon after the vet expressed her anal glands, or did it take quite some time?  If it occurred soon after, the real problem is why they keep getting impacted????????

A 7 year old cat is not, generally, considered "old", and I am not sure her cleaning herself back there is really the problem.  I do not belive your vet got to the root cause of the problem, so a return visit may be warranted.  If your vet still does not seem to have a handle on the problem, it may be time for a second opinion.

Best regards... Norm.
