Cats/Cat had kittens

Question
We knew our cat was pregnant and she has given birth this last night is what we think. We cant find the Kittys but shes been around the house (outdoors)all day. Could the kittens have died? Also would her nipples look full right away? This is her second litter and the first time she had them close by the house and was with them all the time.

Answer
Hi
yes her nipples would be full straight away as the kittens would need to feed early on.

As to where they are, well it is not uncommon for cats to want to hide their litters for safety. I have come across this before where the owners can't fin the kittens. All you can do is to try and keep tabs on your mum cat and see where she goes. She is unlikely to leave them for very long if they survived.

best wishes Kate
