Question
Hi i have a 8 year old persian cat i give her a can of cat food every 2 weeks as a treat only other then that she is always on hard kitty food.Well last night i gave her , her treat of canned cat food i only gave her 2 tablespoons of it and she ate it pretty good.Well today this evening after i came in to find that she has threw up everywere. It is brown in color i also noticed she has diareah i had to clean up her behind becouse it was all over her.Well she acts tired now and she wont eat her hard cat food or drink her water she only nibbled at a cat treat.I noticed last week she had a snotty nose yellow snot but i didnt think anything of it becouse i know persian cats tend to tear up and have a little discharge from there noses due to there pug faces. But now i am thinking differently, she has had a upper respitory infection before a while back and she is showing the same symptoms of that only difference is the vomiting and diareah. Can you please tell me what you think this all could be from? And does upper respitory infections cause diareah and vomiting also? Thanks so much for your time i really appreciate it

Answer
Evelyn,

While I am not a vet, it seems to me you should get your kitty to a veterinarian as soon as possible.  It might be minor, but it sounds as if she has an upper respiratory problem and should be looked at by your vet before it gets more serious.

Concerned regards... Norm.

In 1971, I obtained my first Abyssinian which has become my primary breed. In addition, I have bred Manx and Persians. Currently, besides the Abyssinians, I am also breeding Maine Coons.
