Cats/Is my kitten pregnant

Question
My Kitten 'Bella' is about 5months old. I have hand reaised her from 2weeks old. She is an inside cat but has escaped outside for long periods of time. In the past 3 weeks she has gained alot of weight and her stomach is very firm. I am wondering if there is any chance she could be pregnant? I have noticed her nipples are getting bigger but im not sure if that is becasue she is growing. The nipplers are more prominent but not swelled in anyway. I am not in a financial situation to take her to the vet within the next few weeks and need to know if she is pregnant or not.

Answer
Jacinta,

It sounds as if she might be.  She really is too young to have kittens, but, at this point it does not matter. If she is indeed pregnant, you will have to hope for the best.  Cat gestation is about 65-67 days for the time of breeding.  You may have to contact a vet if she runs into trouble. You will also need to alert your vet of this, so, if there are problems, the vet clinic is ready.

Best regards... Norm.
