Question
Is there any cat breeds that strongly bond with one person rather than with a whole family or everyone? I am in search of another cat (I know how to introduce) to join my family of three felines. But this time i want a cat that will bond me most. Please give me more than one breed.

Answer
Julia,

In my experience, whether a cat bonds with just one family member is as much a trait of the individual as it is the breed. I have found that one approach, when you introduce another cat to your household, is to start it in your bedroom and keep it there with food, water, litter pan for at least a week.  This allows it to bond with you first and helps the new arrival build up some self assurance since it would not have to compete for food or attention.

Breeds that tend to be more outgoing and gregarious are the Siamese types (Siamese, Colorpoint Shorthairs, Orientals, Balinese-Javanese), Burmese, European Burmese.  These breeds are very vocal and very active.  If you want something more staid, an American Shorthair or a AMine Coon are good choices.

Best regards... Norm.
