Cats/Cat labor stopped

Hello,

I have a queen who I thought went into her first stage of labor last night around 8 pm. She was dragging herself, and seemed to be having contractions. A clear, odorless fluid was coming out, however after a while she stopped. She fell asleep and has been acting as if nothing happened. I'm worried something is wrong with her. She is approximately 1 year old. She puts her rear end up as well, and is constantly cleaning the vaginal area. She is also more vocal, but does not seem to be in too bad of pain. Does she need to go to the vet? and if she does, approximately how much will this cost?

It sounds like she is just starting to go into labor to me. Here is a good link that explains a cat's stages of labor.

if you feel that something is wrong then take her to your vet. He should charge his regular fee for an exam. Ask the vet before you go how much he will charge. Good luck.

And yet I choose not to attack you. If I don't act right then have me checked to see what is wrong. Please take care of me when I grow old. You too will grow old. On the difficult journey, on the ultimate difficult journey, go with me please. Never say you can't bear to watch. Don't make me face this alone. Everything is easier for me if you are there. Because I love you so. Take a moment today to thank God for your pets. Enjoy and take good care of them. Life would be a much duller, less joyful thing without God's critters. Pass this on.
