Question
my cats been mating  a few months and she hasnt got pregant is he putting it in the right place she growls and rolls when done they mate when shes in heat

Answer
Hi Kristy.  It sounds like the matings are probably successful.  Males have little barbs on their penis that are painful to the female, and this is why females growl, hiss or screech when they mate.  However, this sensation is required, as it's what signals the female's ovaries to release eggs.  If it's the same two cats that have been mating for a few months, chances may be good that one of them is infertile.  If it's been a few different toms, it's most likely that your female is unable to reproduce.  Either way, count this a blessing!  Females don't need to have a litter of kittens in order to make great pets, and millions of kitties are put to sleep each year because there aren't enough homes for them all.  So I would take this opportunity to get her spayed right away, just in case she ISN'T infertile.  Spaying also offers health benefits, such as reduced risk of mammary cancer and a deadly infection of the uterus, called pyometra.

Best wishes!
