Question

Cubbie
Hi Norm,
I rescued my little Cubbie when he was 9 weeks old from a local shelter who saved his entire family from a high kill shelter.  I know he's a mix breed and there's not way to know for sure, but Cubbie reminds me of a Turkish Angora I had 20 years ago and I'm just wondering if there's a possibility. He is quite fine in his bone structure and he's getting his adult fur now and its very silky.  He doesn't seem to require a lot of grooming yet either but he's just coming up on 5 months old.

Any help would be appreciated...I also have another kitty I think might be Maine Coon mix...I'll send you a separate email on her. Thank you for any insight :).

Answer
Anne,

It is highly unlikely Cubbie has any Turkish Angora back there, as Turkish Angoras are a pretty rare breed.  Also, once he is a bit older and loses his kitten coat (always very fine and silky), see what his coat is like at that time.

He is very handsome, fairly refined and reminiscent of Turkish Angoras.

Best regards... Norm.
