How many whiskers do housecats have?
Hi Tim,
The number of whiskers cats have varies, but it is usually around 10-20 whiskers on each side. An average of about 24 whiskers per cat is a good figure. The whiskers are arranged in four rows on each cheek. It's important to note that whiskers fall out, just like regular hair, and are replaced with new whiskers perdiodically. So some cats will be missing whiskers from time to time.

| Comment | Being a cat-lover, I somehow expected to get an exact figure. I thought perhaps the answerer of my question would look in a book on cat anatomy (which my library doesn't have), and say how many whiskers a cat has! | ||
