Question

Minnoo
Dear Sir,
I brought home a female kitten about two months old from my office premises about 5 months back.  Very attractive eyes, pure white in color with fur, long tail. Fed only cat food (Whiskas) with occasionally cooked fish.
No contact with outside cats. Very playful, but aggressive at times.  Very hard (resistance) to cut nails. Food habits normal.  Image attached, wish to know more about breed, other details that I should know, such as, taking her to a vet clinic, etc.
Appreciate.  Thank you.
Kind regards,
V. Pillai

Answer
V. Pillai,

Minoo looks to be a very handsome kitten, indeed. She reminds me a lot of a Turkish Angora (a breed originating at the Ankara zoo in Turkey). Turkish Angoras have a longer very fine coat, a foreign type of body, very erect ears, and are very active.

I would take her to the vet clinic and be prepared to discuss any vaccinations she was given before you got her.  She should have, at the very least, a 3 in 1 vaccination and follow up booster (for panleukopenia, rhini tracheitis, and calici). Depending on the rules in your jurisdiction, she may need a rabies shot.  I would have the 3 in 1 shot done first, wait 3 weeks, have the 3 in 1 booster, wait another 3 weeks, and have the rabies shot, if necessary. If she has no contact with any outsdie cats, these are all the shots she should need.  Upon visiting the vet, you should take a stool sample so she can be checked for worms.

Other than that, it looks as if you adn Minoo should enjoy each other for many, many years to come.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Best regards... Norm.
