about the size of an adult pomerainian dog.likes to be petted and is

short hair but sheds ALOT

Answer
Hi Mary,

It sounds like you have a domestic short hair.  This is a name given to cats with short hair who aren't of any specific breed.  Most solid black cats that are purebred won't shine reddish in the sunlight.  The Burmese is a deep mohogany color, but this cat isn't very large and doesn't shed much.  However, it's possible that your kitty could be a Burmese mix.  This could explain his color.

Best wishes!
